Sweden: Coca-Cola is 100% recycledIssuing time:2020-07-23 17:09 The Swedish Coca-Cola company announced today that from 2020, it will be the first country in the world to produce all its plastic bottles from 100% recycled materials. The shift, which will begin in the first quarter of 2020, includes all plastic (PET) packaging produced at coke's bottling plant in Jollboro. By using 100 per cent recycled materials in its bottles, Coca-Cola hopes to reduce the use of unrecycled plastic in Sweden by 3,500 tonnes a year. This should also lead to a 25 per cent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions per year from pre-transition levels, including about 40 per cent of recycled PET. According to the company, 100 percent of PET bottle recycled plastic includes Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite and the Bonaqua brand, which is made up of 40 different varieties. |
